Are you a deeply compassionate and ethical individual with a desire to make a profound difference in families' lives? Do you possess exceptional communication skills and a transparent approach to guide individuals through sensitive decisions? We are seeking a dedicated Pre-Planning Funeral Advisor to join our team in Houston, Texas, on a full-time, commissionable basis, with significant potential for rapid pay increases based on performance.

About the Role:

As a Pre-Planning Funeral Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing peace of mind to families by helping them arrange funeral and memorial services in advance. This vital position involves sensitive discussions about end-of-life preferences, financial planning, and ensuring that individual wishes are honored with dignity and respect. You will empower families to make informed decisions, alleviating the emotional and financial burden during a time of grief.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compassionate Guidance: Meet with individuals and families, both in-person and potentially remotely, to discuss and document their pre-planning funeral needs. Guide them through various options for services, merchandise, and payment plans with empathy, patience, and understanding.

  • Ethical and Transparent Consulting: Provide clear, honest, and comprehensive information about all aspects of pre-arranged funeral services, including pricing, legal requirements, and available funding options (e.g., life insurance policies). Uphold the highest ethical standards, prioritizing the family's best interests above all else.

  • Relationship Building: Foster strong, trusting relationships with clients, funeral directors, and community partners (e.g., churches, nursing homes, hospices) to ensure a seamless and supportive experience.

  • Sales and Performance: Drive pre-need sales through developing and following up on leads (both self-generated and company-provided). Meet and exceed monthly sales targets, with a strong focus on performance-based pay raises.

  • Education and Outreach: Organize and conduct public seminars to educate the community on the benefits of pre-planning.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Accurately complete and maintain all necessary paperwork, client records, and legal documents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations (including FTC rules). Ensure all pre-arrangements align with the client's wishes.

  • Knowledge and Expertise: Stay current on funeral industry trends, regulations, and best practices. Possess a thorough understanding of various funeral rites, ceremonies, and customs.

Qualifications:

  • Ethical Foundation: Unwavering commitment to ethical conduct, moral principles, and prioritizing the values and well-being of families.

  • Compassion and Empathy: Proven ability to handle sensitive and emotional situations with profound compassion, active listening, and a supportive demeanor.

  • Transparency: Demonstrated commitment to clear and honest communication, building trust through open dialogue.

  • Sales Acumen: Experience in sales or customer service, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Motivation to thrive in a commission-based environment.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and kindly.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Licensure: Must possess or be able to acquire a life insurance license in the state of Texas. A Funeral Director's license is a plus but not strictly required for this pre-planning role.

  • Computer Proficiency: Basic office skills, including computer literacy and experience with CRM software.

  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently in a flexible setting, as well as collaborate effectively with a team.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Commission-Based Pay: This is a 100% commission-based role with unlimited earning potential. We offer a competitive commission structure designed to reward high performers.

  • Fast Pay Raise Potential: Rapid advancement and increased earning potential directly tied to individual sales performance and proven success.

  • Full-Time Opportunity: Consistent work schedule with opportunities for professional growth.

  • Supportive Environment: Be part of a caring team dedicated to making a positive impact in the community.

If you are a driven and empathetic individual who believes in the power of pre-planning to bring comfort and clarity to families, we encourage you to apply. Join us in providing an invaluable service to the Houston community.
